We're UT Austin's most active poker community. We teach students to think sharper, read people better, and make decisions under pressure — one hand at a time.
UT Poker Club started in Fall 2025 with a simple idea: UT Austin needed a serious poker community. Not just a casual game, but a club where students could learn strategy, compete, and build real skills. In our first semester, we grew to 20+ consistent weekly attendees and established the Monday night meetings that students look forward to every week.
What began as three co-presidents and a shared love of the game quickly became the fastest-growing poker club at UT Austin. We're not just here to play cards — we're here to sharpen decision-making, cultivate a competitive mindset, and build a community that lasts beyond the felt.
Today, we run structured GTO lessons, low-stakes cash games, and semester-end tournaments. Every event is designed to be accessible to newcomers while still being engaging for experienced players. If you've never played before, that's fine — most of us started there too.
Four reasons students keep coming back.
Weekly events every semester, no gaps. Show up any Monday and there's a table running. Consistent, structured, and always worth your time.
GTO fundamentals, hand reading, pot odds, tournament play. Our curriculum is built for students who want to actually improve — not just play.
20+ students at every meeting, friendly tables, no gatekeeping. Whether you're a first-timer or a weekend grinder, you belong here.
Founded in 2025 and already outpacing Longhorn Poker in attendance and activity. We're just getting started — and we want you at the table.
